Venue Amenity Highlights

  • The Little Brown Church

Our church was originally built in 1908 and extensively renovated in a mid-century modern style in 1964. A landmark of the Maxwelton Valley for more than 100 years, the sanctuary offers seating for up to 120 guests in pews and in the choir loft. Most of our guests choose to have their ceremony in the meadow while having the peace of mind that should inclement weather happen, the church is always an option. Since the first wedding on the property in 1908, hundreds of couples have held the Little Brown Church in their hearts as the starting point for the next chapter of their lives together.

  • The Meadow

Most days, the grassy meadow is home to deer and other wildlife, but on your special day, you and your guests will be the focus of this little slice of paradise. Harvested from naturally fallen logs, our western red cedar arbors frame this magnificent space while 200-foot tall trees watch over you as you say "I do." Your guests will enter surrounded by native plants and raw cedar beams that you can adorn as lavishly or simply as you prefer with any flowers you like or even with fresh cuttings from our gardens.

  • The Gardens

Lovingly cared for year-round, our gardens produce thousands of flowers in a variety of colors throughout the year. With more than 50 dahlia plants and hundreds of sunflowers, our gardens provide you with amazing backdrops for photos and opportunities for strolling on our grounds during the event. Our flowers that are not used for weddings and events are donated to raise money for the Whidbey Island Homeless Coalition. Guests often have admired our vegetable garden which showcases the "three sisters:" corn, beans, and squash growing together among other seasonal vegetables. Cascadia Meadows is also home to nearly every native variety of tree and plant common to the Pacific Northwest. Directly behind the meadow are several acres of self-guided nature trails showcasing those species.

  • The Parson's Cottage

A parsonage is a quaint term that has always been used for the house next to the historic Little Brown Church. The "new" Parson’s Cottage was built in 1954 and includes three bedrooms and one bathroom. Although a parson and their family has not lived in the cottage for decades, for an additional rental fee the cottage will be yours for your event. With restored old-growth hardwood floors, a 2010 kitchen remodel, and gas fireplace, you will find yourself in a clean, comfortable, and air conditioned home just steps away from your event. Couples have found this to be a quiet respite on an exciting day. The Parson’s Cottage is also available to be rented for the day of your event and is an excellent location for getting hair, makeup, and dressing completed.

  • Meeting Hall

Just a few hundred yards from Puget Sound, the church offers much more than just a ceremony space. With three bathrooms, a full kitchen, meeting hall, and easy onsite parking for all of your guests, it has everything you think a church built in the woods in 1964 would have, including character. Both the sanctuary and meeting hall have projectors that can be easily hooked up to your laptop as well as excellent sound systems with microphones and the ability to connect wirelessly to your phone.

  • Ecological Footprint

Here at Cascadia Meadows, we are proud of our efforts to create a space for you that is more sustainable than most. Our efforts include our solar panel system that provides clean electricity to our local grid, onsite well with regularly tested pure aquifer water, organic gardens with composting and rainwater catchment, and nature trails. Your event venue will return to a wildlife sanctuary after all of the guests have left. Also, each couple is invited to plant a tree on the property that we provide. As your relationship grows, you'll know that a tree is growing with you that you can visit at any time.
